Engaging communities through environmental art workshops.

Fran’s extensive experience in teaching and workshop facilitation has enabled collaborations on Country with First Nations communities, environment based field studies in collaboration with scientists and agriculturalists, public mural works with children and vulnerable people.

Recent education highlights include teaching a workshop on Artists Books at the Goulburn Regional Gallery, teaching Natural Dyeing at Coleambally including in-the-field dyestuff collection, in Darlington Point making books with Indigenous women at the local school library, and in-the-field silk screening including Plein Air screen exposures in St George QLD.

 

Connecting to the landscape around rural communities is a vital part of Fran’s practice and opportunities to travel for workshops are always considered.
